Gratitude is the virtue of thankfulness! ✨ At WeeSleep, we believe all children should learn about gratitude while they're young, as it helps our kids grow into kind, caring, adults.

Are you looking for ways to incorporate and teach gratitude in your home? Save this post as a reminder!

✨ #1 - Teach your children to say please and thank you. Our manners express appreciation over entitlement.

✨ #2 - Have your children use a gratitude jar. Encourage your kids to write out a few things that they are grateful for each day. Once they write them down on notes or little slips of paper, they can add them to the jar! At the end of the week, it can be fun to read these notes of appreciation out loud together.

✨ #3 - Practice complimenting others! Children learn by example, and if they see you being friendly and complimenting someone, chances are they will do the same.

✨ #4 - Share what you're grateful for at the dinner table. Go around the table and allow each family member (parents included!) to express gratitude.

✨ #5 - Look for awe-inspiring moments throughout the day. If the sunset is beautiful, say it out loud! If the sound of someone's laughter warms your heart, tell them. Encourage your children to look for joy in the little things and have them share these moments with you too.

Do you find it tricky putting your little one down for a nap when it's light out? ⛅ Use these tips to help them rest comfortably when it's still daytime:

☁️ Set the mood. Make sure your little one's room has blinds or curtains so you can adjust the atmosphere when it's time to rest. Babies sleep best in dark, quiet environments!

☁️ Sing a short lullaby during your nap routine to signal it’s time for sleep. Your little one will learn that the song means a dreamy nap awaits.

☁️ Make your baby feel safe! Place them to sleep on their back, and make sure to clear the crib or bassinet of blankets and other items.

☁️ Be consistent. Your baby will get the most out of daytime naps if they take them at the same time each day. (Important note: occasional exceptions are inevitable, of course, and won't harm your baby).
