What is a parenting mantra? 💭

A parenting mantra is a short statement that reminds you of a quality or characteristic you desire (or already possess) as a parent. These particular statements can be repeated numerous times, out loud or in your head. Repeating these mantras will help you stay grounded, calm, cool, and collected! 🤍

Better sleep starts with less stress, and positive self-talk is crucial in achieving a better quality of life!

We know that fresh, outdoor air helps children sleep better, so what do we do when it starts to get colder and darker, sooner?

Here's a list of fun, easy indoor activities that will help your child release some energy and ensure a great night's sleep!

🗺️ Set up a treasure hunt!
Hide a prize somewhere in your house and give your child subtle clues to find it. You could even make them a real-life treasure map to follow.

🕺 Have a dance contest!
Start a family dance competition and get moving to some of your favorite songs! You can even have your little one pick which songs they want to dance to.

🧺 Have an indoor picnic!
Spread a blanket out on the floor and have an indoor picnic for dinner! Encourage your little ones to help you set up and create the picnic experience.

🎨 Set up a painting station!
Painting is a great activity for kids of all ages as it helps to build creativity and confidence. Make sure you have a drop mat handy or set up a "kid zone" in case any paint splatters.

🎈 Play balloon tennis!
Blow up some balloons and toss them into the air. Ask your children to tap the balloons toward other players to keep them from touching the ground. This game is a blast for kiddos and improves hand-eye coordination!

A huge part of a good night’s sleep is successfully setting your child up for it! 🌙 Watch and save this video as we share 5 steps that are SO important to follow for your toddler’s night routine. ⁣

Step 1 - Running a bath. 🛁 ⁣
Nothing says bedtime like winding down with a warm bubble bath!⁣
⁣
Step 2 - Choose cozy PJs! ⁣
Include your toddler in their sleep routine by having them pick which set of PJs they want to wear that night.⁣
⁣
Step 3 - Brush and floss those teeth! 🦷 ⁣
Let your child try brushing on their own, but step in if you need to help them get in all the nooks and crannies. No cavities over here!⁣
⁣
Step 4 - Have them choose from 2 books to read. ⁣
Who doesn’t love a good bedtime story? Let your child choose a book or two to help them wind down for the night.⁣

Step 5 - Go over their bedtime checklist. ✔️ ⁣
Once your child is in bed but still awake, make sure they have their blanket (optional!), the sound machine is on (optional!), and the lights are out (not optional!). You can part ways with them by using a key phrase of choice. In this video, WeeSleep Consultant Alana uses, “Goodnight, Mommy loves you, see you in the morning!”⁣

We’re serious about safe sleep year-round at WeeSleep, but September is Baby Safety Month, and we want to outline 4 key elements of a safe sleep space! 💤

It’s easy to get caught up in choosing the perfect shade of paint for your nursery, beautiful wall décor, and a fabulous light fixture. However, we don’t always focus on creating a SAFE place for our little ones to sleep!

SAVE this post and implement these 4 elements into your baby's nighttime routine so they can fall safely and soundly asleep. 🤍

1. Invest in a good baby monitor
2. Give your baby their own sleep space
3. Keep the crib boring (!)
4. Keep an eye on room temperature

Are you worried about your baby rolling in their sleep?⁣

September is Baby Safety Month, and we want to educate and help ease your mind when it comes to putting your little one to bed safely! Once your baby starts rolling, you should:⁣
⁣
❌ Stop swaddling and switch over to a sleep sack.⁣
✔️ Offer lots of tummy time and practice rolling both ways during the day.⁣
⚠️ Until your baby has mastered the skill of rolling back and forth on their own, you can flip them back onto their backs. Generally, you don’t have to reposition them once they can roll both ways easily.⁣
⁣
Rolling can be a tough phase that temporarily disrupts sleep but will pass quickly once your baby picks up this new skill. Save this post to reference if you found these tips helpful!⁣
